Company Scam Risk Analyzer
Paste any USDOT number, MC number, or Company Name to instantly pull federal records and calculate a "Trust Score". We flag chameleon carriers, hostage complaints, and lapsed insurance on the fly.
How the Scam Risk Score is Calculated
Our risk engine evaluates moving company credentials against core safety markers logged in the federal registry. When you enter a USDOT number or company name, our algorithm aggregates commercial operating records to calculate an objective risk category:
Active Operating Authority
We verify if the mover possesses active Household Goods (HHG) authority. Moving companies operating with a suspended, revoked, or non-HHG status represent a significant contract liability.
Chameleon Carrier Check
Rogue moving companies frequently shut down operations when consumer complaints spike, only to re-register under a new corporate entity. We check for new filings with historically matching addresses or owner names.
BIPD & Cargo Insurance
Under federal law, interstate movers must maintain active Bodily Injury and Property Damage (BIPD) liability insurance alongside cargo coverage. If insurance logs show lapses, the company is flagged.
Complaint Database Auditing
We parse complaint records filed with the National Consumer Complaint Database (NCCDB) over the past 4 years. High ratios of hostage household goods or severe pricing hikes will decrease the company's score.
