Is Movers To Trust liable for moving disputes?
No, Movers To Trust is an **independent vetting directory** and data verification platform. We do not broker moves, operate transport vehicles, or establish contract rates. Any moving services are contracted directly between you and the licensed carrier you choose.
1. Directory Use & Estimates
Our calculators generate preliminary relocation pricing based on standard industry averages. These estimates do not constitute a binding contract or final tariff. You must receive written binding quotes directly from your selected carrier to lock in final rates.
2. Carrier Claiming Rules
Moving company owners claiming listings represent that they hold active licensing authority from state or federal agencies. Claimed accounts posting false DOT numbers, fake insurance certificates, or unauthorized descriptions will have their accounts immediately terminated.
3. Disclaimer of Liability
We pull data daily from active federal databases. However, safety records, insurance coverage, and compliance ratings can change at any time. Users must verify registration directly with the FMCSA registry before finalizing contracts.
4. Public Records & First Amendment Protections
Movers To Trust operates as an independent aggregator and publisher of factual, publicly available commercial records. All carrier licensing, complaint history, and safety data displayed on this platform is sourced directly from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) via the official FMCSA Protect Your Move portal and other federal registries.
The publication, organization, and dissemination of this true, public information is a constitutionally protected exercise of free speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We do not alter or fabricate official government safety records. Carriers seeking to dispute their federal safety or complaint records must resolve those disputes directly with the FMCSA. Movers To Trust will not remove factual public records in response to intimidation or cease-and-desist demands.
5. Data Update Frequency & Verification Burden
While Movers To Trust strives to maintain the most current safety and licensing profiles possible, our database is synced with the FMCSA registry on a monthlybasis. Consequently, a carrier's status may change in the interim between our database updates.
The ultimate burden of verification rests entirely upon the consumer. By using this platform, you acknowledge that you must independently verify the active status, insurance limits, and safety record of any moving company directly through the official FMCSA database before signing a contract or tendering a deposit.
